Nick Leddy claimed off of waivers today
The veteran blueliner finds a new home.
UPDATE: The Sharks have also added veteran defenseman Nick Leddy, claiming him off waivers from the St. Louis Blues.
This just in, the San Jose Sharks have signed free agent defenseman Dmitry Orlov to a two year contract worth $6.5 million per season.
The 33 year old Orlov is coming off a two year, $15.5 million contract with the Carolina Hurricanes where he failed to deliver value. He can still be a contributor in a veteran role, but his best days appear to be behind him. He'll help anchor a relatively young Sharks blue line that's looking to take steps forward next season.
