Noah Gregor announces why he picked the Maple Leafs

Among the new players that the Toronto Maple Leafs will have at their training camp fighting for a job includes forward Noah Gregor, who has previously played with the San Jose Sharks and will be attempting to earn a spot on the roster in the form of a professional tryout contract.
Gregor, who was drafted 111th overall by the Sharks in 2016, has nearly 200 games of NHL experience - and he knows that he'll be competing alongside Dylan Gambrell, Bobby McMann, and Pontus Holmberg for an elusive roster position. Thankfully, he already has a good relationship with Gambrell, who is a friend of his.
“Probably just friendly competition," Gregor said of the upcoming training camp. "We’re really good buddies."
So, why was it that he chose the Leafs? Apparently, he had been in talks with the Leafs for quite a while.
“Ever really since the first day of free agency there, Toronto’s kind of been a team that I’ve been in talks with.”
Last season in 57 games played, Gregor scored 10 goals with seven assists. In 178 career NHL contests, he's scored 26 goals with 25 assists. Does he stand a chance of earning a roster spot during his professional tryout?
