Notorious draft bust Olli Juolevi signs a new deal
The former 5th overall pick was selected ahead of Matthew Tkachuk and Charlie McAvoy.

Former Vancouver Canucks top pick Olli Juolevi has signed a contract with Timra of the SHL in Sweden.
The 25 year old defenseman had been on a professional tryout (PTO) contract with the Arizona Coyotes this pre-season, but failed to land a job with the team. Which, if you know how Juolevi's NHL career has played out, is not surprising.
Juolevi was selected 5th overall by the Canucks back in 2016, just one spot ahead of superstar forward Matthew Tkachuk (ouch) and several spots ahead of star defensemen Mikhail Sergachev and Charlie McAvoy (double ouch). He put up one goal and 14 points in 38 games last season with the Anaheim Ducks' AHL affiliate San Diego Gulls. In total he has put up two goals and three points in 41 NHL games split between the Canucks, Florida Panthers and Detroit Red Wings.
Today's news just confirms what Canucks fans have known for a few years and that's that Juolevi is a certified draft bust.
