Linesman Marc-André Manseau will be retiring from officiating hockey games after he was assaulted during a Midget BB game in Quebec, Canada.

The game between the La-Sarre and Cree Nations Bears was called off during the third period after the on-ice officiating crew lost complete control of the game, resulting in a violent brawl on the ice. It was during that brawl, with the officials busy separating the players from one another, that Manseau was attacked by a 16-year-old player.

In the video below it looks like Manseau is struck in the face by the player with two different punches, and he claims his face was noticeably marked up after the game.

Interestingly, Manseau is only retiring from his officiating duties in Quebec, and has stated he will continue to officiate in Ontario where he says the players are less trouble.
