Keep an eye on the Oilers, warns the insider:

NHL insider Kevin Weekes believes fans should keep a close eye on the Edmonton Oilers. Weekes reported on the air of ESPN Radio that he believes the Canadian team is interesting in acquiring defenseman Jakob Chychrun from the Arizona Coyotes, despite his steep asking price from general manager Bill Armstrong, who is reportedly seeking at least one first-round pick plus a top prospect or a good young NHL player.

Weekes stated: “Jakob Chychrun to the Oilers is starting pick up heat faster than expected.”

The insider then added that Oilers general manager “Ken Holland might have a few more tricks up his sleeves.”

This is a line that usually gets the fanbase in Edmonton quite nervous. Not looking to reassure them, Weekes then said about Holland:

“He has made it clear that he wants to go all in this year.”

It is not secret that the Oilers’ top two forward lines are stacked with talent, but that the defence corps could be improved. They can count on an elite player in Darnell Nurse, but they need fire power on the back end…

Could Chychrun be the answer in Edmonton?

The question remains if Holland is prepared to pay a large price to boost his defence group… I guess we will know what he means by going all in if he does pull the trigger on a monster trade for a boost on the blue line.
