According to a report from TSN investigative reporter Rick Westhead, Edmonton Oilers executive and former Hockey Canada president Bob Nicholson has been subpoenaed by the Canadian government's Heritage Committee and will be forced to answer questions on November 15th, 2022.

From Westhead:

"Heritage Committee will subpoena former Hockey Canada CEO Bob Nicholson to appear Nov. 15 along w HC exec Pat McLaughlin. After talks, CFO Brian Cairo won't be called. Committee also wants minutes of board & in camera meetings & Scott Smith’s employment & severance agreements."

- Rick Westhead

From the Committee:

"It was agreed, - That the committee hold three additional meetings, with four witnesses per meeting, on the consideration of Bill C-18, An Act respecting online communications platforms that make news content available to persons in Canada; that those meetings be scheduled for Friday, October 28, 2022, Tuesday, November 1, 2022 and Friday, November 4, 2022; that the deadline for amendments for Bill C-18 be 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2022; that the committee begin clause-by-clause consideration of Bill C-18 on Friday, November 18, 2022; that the meeting of Tuesday, November 15, 2022, be convened on the topic of Safe Sport in Canada; and that Pat McLaughlin be invited to appear before the committee, and Bob Nicholson be summoned to appear before the committee on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Nicholson, of course, was president and chief executive officer of Hockey Canada from 1998 through 2014, before moving on to join the Oilers' front office. While the allegations against members of the 2018 World Junior squad fall outside of the time that Nicholson worked for Hockey Canada, new allegations made against the 2003 World Junior team fall on his watch.

Needless to say that there has been LOTS of speculation why Nicholson hasn't been made to comment on the list of allegations against Hockey Canada and its members in recent months. Now, he'll be forced to face the music, as they say.

Frankly, I feel like an entire gutting and re-staffing of Hockey Canada is needed. And frankly, I think that that is exactly what's going to happen in the coming months. Stay tuned.
