An Oilers fan suffers an ugly injury after being hit with a puck.
We all know that hockey players are the toughest athletes in all of professional sports, but as it turns out that extends to the fans as well.
Over the weekend, fans at Rogers Place in Edmonton were witnesses to that fact when a fan in attendance for that night's clash between the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights suffered an ugly injury.
The fan, who wasn't doing anything wrong, was simply sitting back and enjoying the game and a beer when a puck came out of nowhere and struck him in the head. It was enough to bust open his head and cause a long line of crimson to run down his face, but much to his credit he took it in stride.
Fans just one section over admitted that they heard the terrible sound the puck made when it struck him in the face.
While no one would have blamed him for being hurt, the fan merely handed his beer to another bystander and began pumping his fist in the air despite the blood running down his face. He did leave his seat, likely to get some medical attention from the staff on hand, but seemed to be none the worse for wear despite the scary incident.
