An Oilers fan becomes public enemy #1 in the blink of an eye.
There's no question that the National Hockey League's "Little Ball of Hate" is winning the hearts and minds of many fans around the league with his incredible performance, at 37 years old no less, in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final.
Brad Marchand has quite frankly been one of the best deadline acquisitions I've seen a team make in my lifetime, but on Saturday night he took things to an entirely new level. Marchand was a force in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, so much so that he was even converting fans of the Edmonton Oilers right there in the building at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
By now most of you have seen the two goals that were scored by Marchand in Game 5, both of which were downright filthy, but it would be the second goal that would quite literally cause an Oilers fan to abandon his team right then and there in the building.
Marchand would score the goal by undressing both Oilers defenseman Jake Walman and Oilers goaltender Calvin Pickard on an incredible individual effort.
One Oilers fan was so disgusted by the play that he openly removed his Oilers jersey to reveal that he had been wearing a Florida Panthers jersey underneath it the entire time.
You can see the whole thing unfold in a single clip just below:
Now the fan in question was surrounded by a sea of Oilers fans when he did the unthinkable and donned the colors of the enemy after peeling off his jersey, and something tells me he got an earful from his fellow fans before Game 5 eventually came to a close. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this particular fan hasn't made himself public enemy #1 in Edmonton, at least for now.
