Oilers’ fans that were surprised by Wayne Gretzky pulled incredible move of their own

This story went viral earlier this weekend and got people crying tears of joy. Last week, the Edmonton Oilers, the Gretzky family and content creator Zachery Dereniowski, who goes by MDMotivator on Instagram, teamed up to give a pair of Oilers fans the surprise of a lifetime.

Dereniowski’s style of content involves surprising unsuspecting fans with once in a lifetime type of gifts and opportunities, often doing so for families that have been struggling in one way or another. He did something very similar in this case, surprising a pair of Oilers fans who were shopping while wearing the team colors.

Dereniowski surprised the two fans, brothers Darin and Eric, by offering them Stanley Cup Final tickets for the low price of just $1. What initially looked like some kind of prank turned out to be an incredible day for the pair of Oilers fans, who also learned that they would be getting $1000 in cash on top of the ticket to the game thanks to the generosity of Wayne Gretzky and his oldest son Ty.

But then Darin and Eric pulled an incredible move on their own when they turned around and paid it forward by giving the money to a woman who was shopping in the very same establishment. The gesture showed that Dereniowski had picked the right fans to surprise as he is all about loving everyone and paying it forward.

It makes you feel even better to see towards the end of the viral video how Darin and Eric got to meet legend Wayne Gretzky, with Gretzky’s son Ty Gretzky collaborating on this project to help make everything come together. Gretzky gave both of the fans a jersey with his name and number and proceeded to sign it for both of them as well, with joy written all across both of their faces the entire time.

With the generous they pulled at the grocery store, after admitting they could use the money for rent and food, the two fans were so deserving of that surprise and I just feel so happy to see some good in this world.
