Coach Knoblauch forced to put his lines in a blender already
The Edmonton Oilers are riding high after a thrilling 4-3 win in Game 1 against the Anaheim Ducks, but the victory came at a cost.
The Oilers lost veteran forward Adam Henrique to injury early in the game and it looks like he'll be absent from the lineup in Game 2.
“He got tied up there in front of the net, and obviously wasn’t eligible to come back,” said Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch after last night's game. “We’ll find out tomorrow exactly how long that injury is.
“It’s going to be a big hole missing Rico. He’s been so good on our special teams, and we’re going to have to have some other guys step up if we are to lose him.”
The Oilers will have a couple of options to fill Henrique's spot as their fourth-line centre in Josh Samanski and Curtis Lazar.
Samanski is the most likely to draw back into the lineup, considering the time he spent with Colton Dach and Trent Frederic at different points this season.
