The Edmonton Oilers suffered a tough loss on Saturday night when they were soundly defeated by the Minnesota Wild 5-2, and to make matters worse they have to get right back in the saddle with a matchup against another tough opponent in the Vegas Golden Knights the very next day.

Thankfully for the Oilers they will be getting some welcomed reinforcements ahead of tonight's game with the team announcing earlier today that veteran forward Jack Roslovic has been activated off of long term injured reserve.

Roslovic had been out of the lineup for several weeks, last playing in a game against the Dallas Stars all the way back on November 25th. Prior to his injury, Roslovic was proving to be a good fit with the Oilers with 10 goals and 8 assists for 18 points in just 23 games with the franchise. The Oilers will now have to hope that the long layoff hasn't hurt the chemistry that Roslovic was building with his new teammates in his first season with the team.

Unfortunately the addition of Roslovic to the roster also means that the Oilers must make room and as a result forward Quinn Hutson will be headed back to the American Hockey League where he will rejoin the Bakersfield Condors.

Hutson had a solid showing for himself with 1 goal over 3 games with the Oilers this season and he will now no doubt look to continue to prove that he is an NHL ready player. Hutson has 16 goals and 12 assists for 28 points in just 24 games in the AHL this season.
