Oilers get huge return on Sunday ahead of Stanley Cup Final.
A very good sign for the Oilers on Sunday ahead of this week's Stanley Cup Final.
The Edmonton Oilers suffered a huge blow during the Western Conference Final when they lost the services of forward Zach Hyman, a key piece of their forward group, to a season-ending injury before the biggest games of the season.
The Oilers are dealing with a number of injuries coming into the Stanley Cup Final but thankfully they were the recipients of some good news on the injury front on Sunday.
The Oilers lost forward Connor Brown as well during the Western Conference Final after he was on the receiving end of a high hit from Alex Petrovic that knocked him out of the Western Conference Final. If you missed the injury when it occurred, you can look at the replay below:
When it comes to head injuries there is no telling how long a player might be sidelined for, but thankfully for the Oilers the injury to Brown appears to have been a relatively minor one. Brown was spotted back on the ice with his teammates on Sunday as they practiced ahead of this week's Stanley Cup Final, and he seemed to be moving pretty good all things considered.
There's been no official update on Brown from the Oilers as of yet, but I suspect that will be forthcoming shortly when Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch speaks to the media following practice.
