The Edmonton Oilers have been the subject of a number of trade rumors and now Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli is giving those rumors a great deal of credibility.

According to a report from the Boston Globe's Fluto Shinzawa, the Oilers GM was spotted at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night and he was presumably scouting the Boston Bruins or the New York Rangers.

Coincidentally both the Rangers and the Bruins have been connected to a number of trade rumors of their own according, so a deal between two or more of these teams would certainly fit the narrative that has been floating around the National Hockey League.

It should also be noted that Chiarelli may have been there to conduct some face to face business with another rival general manager, because according to Shinawa St. Louis Blues GM Dough Armstrong was also in attendance.

After the big trade involving Matt Duchene finally went down it seems that there is a renewed sense of urgency for GMs to get a deal done.
