Oilers lock Woodcroft up to a new contract

According to a report from NHL insider Nick Kypreos, the Edmonton Oilers are expected to announce a three year contract for head coach Jay Woodcroft.

It has been widely speculated that Oilers GM Ken Holland would bring Woodcroft back full-time after he took over for former head coach Dave Tippett on an interim basis, but this report makes it official. And why not? The Oilers were a much improved team under Woodcroft and the Oilers' young players seem to have a lot of respect for their new head coach.
