The Edmonton Oilers stepped onto the ice minutes ago for the pregame warm ahead of the tilt against the St. Louis and fans quickly noticed forward James Neal was missing.

Team insider Bob Stauffer also reported that Neal was missing and won’t be suiting for the contest, however, no official reason has been provided by the Oilers.

Neal was banged up after the Battle of Alberta, which took place on Wednesday night, but there was no sign that he would miss action.

For now, we are calling it an undisclosed injury as Neal’s name has not come up in recent trade chatter, but with the deadline less than a month away, we can never rule anything out.

The Oilers should provide an update after the game.
