This hurts... Oh... and they're just $834 below the cap!
The NHL officially released the Edmonton Oilers' roster to start the 2025-26 season this morning.
Check it out:
Evan Bouchard, Leon Draisaitl, Mattias Ekholm, Ty Emberson, Trent Frederic, James Hamblin, Adam Henrique, Kasperi Kapanen, Brett Kulak, Curtis Lazar, Andrew Mangiapane, Connor McDavid, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, Noah Philp, Calvin Pickard, Vasily Podkolzin, Alec Regula, Matt Savoie, Stuart Skinner, Troy Stecher, Jake Walman.
Injured and/or Non-Roster: Damien Carfagna, Zach Hyman, Mattias Janmark.
You'll notice one important player conspicuously missing from the active roster: Zach Hyman.
The Oilers announced this morning that Hyman will start the season on Long-Term Injury Reserve with no timeline for his return.
Hyman is still recovering from offseason wrist surgery after suffering a devastating injury against the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final. The team initially reported that Hyman would be eligible to return in November, but this latest update seems to indicate that Hyman has suffered some sort of set-back.
Stay tuned.
