Oilers set an NHL record in futility...

It’s official: this team is HISTORICALLY bad.

How awful has the Edmonton Oilers’ penalty kill been on home ice this year? Historically awful, that’s how bad.

The Oilers’ PK has been so horrendous on home ice that they rank 31st and last in the NHL in overall penalty killing despite ranking fifth best on the road. And they have made the books...

Just in last night's game against the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton’s deplorable PK was lit up for three goals on the same major powerplay early in the third period after Patrick Maroon’s match penalty for a hit to the head of defenseman Drew Doughty.

The star defender had to joke about it:

The Oilers have now allowed 28 powerplay goals on their home ice, ELEVEN more than even the worst of the other 30 teams in the NHL.

Ok, enough is enough.
