Oilers sign St.-Albert native defenseman to two-years contract.

He comes back home.

The Oilers didn't make huge moves in the UFA market today and it's actually a good sign. After renewing Zack Kassian and Kriss Russel, the management let the train pass on the huge superstars free to sign anywhere.

However, the team still made a small deal with St.-Albert. Alberta native Ryan Stanton.

Stanton is a 27 years old defenseman who's played 120 games in the league thus far. Alternating between the NHL and the AHL, he still uses his 6'2'', 205lbs body to shutdown plays regularly.

He might get a shot at the big team during the year if injuries are in the mix, but he will certainly add some experience to the AHL Bakersfield Condors.
