Hot take on Connor McDavid:
The word coming out of Edmonton ahead of the 2023-24 is “watch out for Connor McDavid.” In his exit interview after losing to the Vegas Golden Knights in six games of the second round series, the Oilers’ captain had already sent a message that next year was “Cup or bust.”
On Wednesday, teammate Vincent Desharnais shared some private details on what took place in the dressing room following the Oilers’ elimination and what McDavid did that makes the young defenseman believes he will be scary on the ice next season. On the No Restriction podcast (in French), Desharnais admitted how he had never seen McDavid so frustrated in the room.
Here is what Desharnais said about his captain and how dangerous he will be in 2023-24 (translated from French):
Considering that McDavid just had the best season of his career with an unbelievable total of 64 goals and 89 assists for 153 points, I can’t event imagine how he will find new ways to terrorize opposing teams next year if he indeed taking his game up another notch!
Cannot wait to see what a nasty McDavid plays like!
