This just in, the San Jose Sharks have reportedly signed forward Oliver Wahlstrom to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.

From NHL insider David Pagnotta:

The 25 year old forward split last season between the New York Islanders, the Boston Bruins and the AHL's Providence Bruins. Pagnotta also reports that Wahlstrom has an AHL deal with the Shark's AHL affiliate San Jose Barracuda if he can't crack their NHL roster.

Chosen in the 1st round (11th overall) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Wahlstrom has failed time and time again to nail down a full-time roster spot in the NHL. He has never played a full season and effectively squandered a spot with his hometown Bruins last season.
