One team appears to be the front runner for veteran center Eric Staal.

It appears that one team has emerged as the favorite for veteran forward Eric Staal, although whether that is because of a great presentation or lack of interests from other organizations is unclear.

According to a report from Minnesota Wild insider Mike Russo of the Star Trbiune the Wild have had talks with Staal, and they appear to have been very productive. In fact Staal's agent spoke to Russo and made the Wild sound like the clear favorites.

"There’s mutual interest and consideration that there is a fit with Minnesota," said agent Rick Curran. "We’ve had conversation and I would also suggest Eric was extremely impressed."

There are some who believe that Staal could recapture some of his game in the right situation, and with rumors that few teams have expressed interest in the forward, he may be coming in to the season with a major chip on his shoulder.
