Former Harvard University star Alex Kerfoot is officially on the open market and three National Hockey League teams were said to be in the running, on Monday.
However, the Montreal Canadiens seem to be running out of luck as the New York Post reported that only two of the final three teams are still in the running for Kerfoot.
While initially courting offers from the Devils, Buffalo Sabres, Colorado Avalanche and Vegas Golden Knights and the Habs, Kerfoot has reportedly narrowed his list of teams down to two: the Vancouver Canucks and the New York Rangers.
According to agent J.P. Barry, Kerfoot and the Canucks management group had a productive meeting last week. It is touch competition for the Rangers, since Kerfoot is from Vancouver and played his junior hockey in nearby Coquitlam.
