An incident caught on camera at an Ontario junior hockey showcase is going viral on social media this week.

An unnamed player, presumed to be underage, is reportedly under investigation from North York, Ontario police after assaulting at least three opponents in a violent and malicious manner. The player over-reacted to being stripped of a puck, slashing his opponent twice before breaking his stick over his opponent's head.

The offender then tried to skate away and ended up swinging his stick at two other opponents' heads while fleeing away like a coward.

Again, police are reportedly investigating and if The Crown approves charges, which will be laid under the Criminal Code: s. 267(a) assault with a weapon (to wit a hockey stick).

It's not yet known what sort of penalty the offending player is facing as a result of this assult.

The good news is that it appears no one was seriously injured.
