Scouting is an inexact science, even more when it comes to hockey. The 2013 Draft was filled with franchise player such as Nathan MacKinnon (1st overall), Aleksander Barkov (2nd overall), Sean Monahan (6th overall) and to some extent Max Domi (12th overall).

Those players are not only established since a few years, but they're already the core of their team at 21 years old. For the 17th selection, Curtis Lazar, the story is quite different. Lazar was named captain of the Canadian National Junior Team in 2015 in which he showed tremendous leadership and goal scoring abilities ending up 1st in goals for the entire tournament.

After 2 disappointing season in the NHL where he couldn't produce up to his expectation (35 points in 143 games) Curtis began the 2016-2017 season in the AHL hoping for a better faith, to no avail.

Despite notching only 4 points in 13 games, the Ottawa Senators called up Curtis Lazar this morning.
