The Stanley Cup playoffs are almost here and the Carolina Hurricanes and the Ottawa Senators will kick us off as the first series to get underway on the playoff schedule.

The Senators have just now unveiled their starting goaltender and lineup for today's Game 1 of their opening round series, with very few surprises from head coach Travis Green. In spite of the fact that there have been some serious question marks around veteran goaltender Linus Ullmark this season, Green is giving Ullmark the nod in Game 1.

Here is the rest of the Senators starting lineup:

Forwards:

Batherson-Stutzle-Giroux
Tkachuk-Cozens-Greig
Cousins-Pinto-Amadio
Foegele-Eller-Zetterlund

Defensemen:

Sanderson-Zub
Chabot-Spence
Gilbert-Matinpalo

Goaltender:

Linus Ullmark

In spite of the mysterious leave of absence that Ullmark took in the middle of the season, he did appear in 49 regular season games for the Senators this season. Over that stretch of play Ullmark recorded a 2.73 goals against average and a .891 save percentage, the worst numbers over a full season of his NHL career.

Ullmark did play better for the Senators down the stretch, so it will be interesting to see how he responds for the Senators in the playoffs today.
