We all know how flamboyant Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin can be, on and off the ice, however, he stunned many fans on Thursday night ahead of the contest against the Carolina Hurricanes by being the exact opposite.

During the warmups, a Capitals fan was seen holding a sign that read It’s My 18th Birthday – Can I Get A Puck?

While Ovi seemed focused on making a puck bounce and dribble on the tip of stick, he nonchalantly flipped the disc over the glass without making a big deal out of it. However, it was a big deal for the young fan, who was shocked and visibly brought to tears by the gesture. The person accompanying her wrapped her up in a big hug and kept yelling at the Capitals captain that he is the best.

Ovechkin made sure the puck made it to the birthday girl, but then casually went back to focusing on the game and the warmups session. He wanted the young fan to enjoy the moment and have the spotlight all to herself. As the fans was seen crying with tears of joy, people around her attempted to get the Caps captain's attention, but he was simply happy to know the puck was finally in the birthday girl's hands.

Best. Birthday. Gift. Ever.

It isn't the first time this season that Ovechkin has been so generous towards his fans. Earlier this year, the Russian forward tossed a fan a puck before recording a hat trick and also gave out sticks to two very deserving fans.

Ovechkin wants everyone to enjoy the game as much as he does!
