We have a giant day on the waiver wire and you have to imagine that some of these players could very well wake up tomorrow and find themselves members of an entirely new organization.

It seems like several franchises in the National Hockey League have decided to use today, September 23rd, as the day to move their players through the waivers process as they attempt to send them down from their current preseason rosters, although it's unclear why so many are doing it all on the same, and why so many are submitting so many of their players on the same day as well.

The New Jersey Devils have placed 4 players on waivers today and those players are Eric Tingradi, Brian Strait, John Ramage, Blake Pietila and Kurtis Gabriel. The Tampa Bay Lightning have placed 5 players on the waiver wire and they are Gabriel Dumont, Andy Andreoff, Edward Pasquale, Carter Verhaeghe and Cameron Gaunce. The Kings have placed just one player on waivers, a relatively quiet day compared to some of the other teams, and that player is veteran goaltender Peter Budaj.

The Golden Knights have four players of their own on the waiver wire and they are Griffin Reinhart, Thomas Tynan, Stefan Matteay abd Maxime Legace, One of the most active teams on the waiver wire today are the Pittsburgh Penguins who have plkaced no fewer than 6 playerso n waivers today. Penguins players head to waivers are Jimmy Hayes, Garrett Wilson, Stefan Elliott, John Muse, Chris summers and Tobias Lindberg.

The Predators have followed suit with 4 players of their own and they are Jared Tinordi, Troy Grossenick, Tyler Gaudet, and Connor Brickley.  The busiest team on the day is the Ottawa Senators who are sending the following seven players to the waiver wire on Sunday: Adam Tambellini, Ben Sexton, Patrick Sieloff, Nicholas Paul, Erik Burgdoerfer, Julius Bergman, and Chasen Balisy

Rounding out the final 3 players are 3 teams with one player each. The Arizona Coyotes have wauved Michael Bunting, the Buffalo Sabres have waived Kevin Porter and the San Jose Sharks have waived Tim Clifton.

That is a boat load of names on waivers, do any of them stand out to you as players who are likely to be claimed by rival teams?
