3 on 3 is the best time for high skill guys to show just what they can do.
Johnny Gaudreau's overtime goal was definitely an example of it. Dougie Hamilton got it back to Gaudreau who was out near the blueline and then just sat back and watched the magic happen.
Gaudreau came in and ripped a shot on Scott Darling. Darling stopped the shot with his blocker, which went in the air over to Brent Seasbrook who tried to settle the puck down with his glove. As Seabrook put the puck on the ice, Gaudreau pounced on it, stealing it from Seabrook and then deking Darling out of his pads to score the OT winner.
Give all the credit to Gaudreau who wanted that puck and wasn't denied. Sometimes there just isn't anything you can do to stop him. The Flames had an overall solid game. They had 37 shots and only gave up 19 against the defending Stanley Cup champs. If not for a solid game by Darling, this would have been over a lot earlier than overtime.
