Pacioretty leaves the game after getting run over by Coburn

It has been a great change of scenery for forward Max Pacioretty so far this season, his first with the Vegas Golden Knights. The veteran forward landed with his new team early in September, just before the start of training camp, when he was traded from the Montreal Canadiens in return for Tomas Tatar, Nick Suzuki and a second round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry draft. 

So far, it seems like the Habs have got the better of this major trade. In his first nine games with the Golden Knights, Pacioretty has only two goals, no assists and is minus-4. After advancing to the Stanley Cup final last season as an expansion team, the Golden Knights are off to a 4-4-1 start this season.

On Friday, early in the evening, the Golden Knights faced off against the Tampa Bay Lightning, and unfortunately for Pacioretty, we have to mention something negative again. 

The veteran forward headed to the dressing room after being knocked out by Lightning defenseman Braydon Coburn during the first period of the contest. 

The Golden Knights striker was hit hard by the 6'5 "giant as he was attempting to charge off with the puck. On video replay, Coburn's elbow seems to come in contact close to Pacioretty's head. 

As for now, Pacioretty left the contest and has yet to return to the game. You can see the massive hit in the video above, atop of this article. 

Now, while we mentioned his lack of productivity earlier on, Pacioretty has managed to fire 26 shots on net and dished out 22 hits in nine games while logging hefty power-play time, so a serious injury, let's say a concussion, would hurt the Golden Knights' depth at left wing.
