Pacioretty out long term after having wrist surgery
Whoa! Paving the way for Eichel's debut?
HockeyFeed
This just in, the Vegas Golden Knights have announced that forward Max Pacioretty will be out of the team's lineup indefinitely after undergoing successful wrist surgery.
If you're like me, you're wondering when Pacioretty injured his wrist... as he played just two days ago and has looked absolutely incredible in the short time that he's played this season since returning from a foot injury. He has 12 goals and 21 points in just 16 games this season.
Now, if you're like me, you're also a bit of a conspiracy theorist and... well... by moving Pacioretty and his $7 million to the injured reserve the Golden Knights are now able to activate superstar Jack Eichel to make his team debut. I'm willing to bet that this was the plan all along. The team likely knew that Pacioretty had a nagging, but not debilitating, wrist injury that would need to be addressed at some point and were simply willing to wait out Eichel's recovery before swapping the two players on IR.
Any way you chop it up this is an absolute whopper of a news day for the Golden Knights.
