The Florida Panthers will be attempting to run it back this season following their unbelievable run to the Stanley Cup Final last spring, which included a monumental upset over the 65-win Boston Bruins in Round 1 of the playoffs.
However, there was plenty of turnover with the roster as the likes of Anthony Duclair, Alex Lyon, Marc Staal, and Radko Gudas are no longer with the team. The good news is that goaltender Spencer Knight, who left the team last year to enter the NHL Player Assistance Program, has returned.
But he won't be starting this season with the Panthers. Instead, he's been loaned to the American Hockey League's Charlotte Checkers. The newly signed Anthony Stolarz will start the year as backup to starter Sergei Bobrovsky.
In 57 career NHL games, Knight has amassed a record of 32-17-6 with a 2.91 goals against average and .907 save percentage.
