The champions are ruthless. The Rat Pack at their finest. Watch below:
On Tuesday night, the Florida Panthers repeated as Stanley Cup champions by beating the Edmonton Oilers 5-1 in Game 6 of the final. The party immediately started on the ice with players and executives reuniting with their families before heading back to the dressing room for some beers and champagne.
Once in the room, where champagne showers were flowing, the Panthers players also lit some cigars and the party got underway.
However, the champions did not miss the opportunity to take one final shot at the Oilers during the celebrations. The Panthers decided to play the song Pink Pony Club, the winning anthem for the Oilers during the postseason. Edmonton would always play the hit song by Chappel Roan after playoff wins, but this time, the Panthers made it their own.
In the video below, you can see the players dancing and celebrating as the song plays, with of course, Matthew Tkachuk dancing on a table, surrounded by his teammates.
Just brutal. They were rats all the way. However, they were the better team. Even Oilers captain Connor McDavid admitted it after the heartbreaking loss.
Let’s hope that he and the rest of his teammates could not hear their song getting blasted in the Panthers’ dressing room after losing for the second year in a row.
