This just in, the Florida Panthers have traded veteran defenseman Jeff Petry to the Minnesota Wild for a 7th round draft pick.

The 38 yyear old Petry has played 58 games with the Panthers this season, picking up 8 assists along the way. He's on a one year deal worth an NHL minimum $775,000 which he signed last offseason in the hopes of winning a Stanley Cup championship with the Panthers.

With the Panthers now looking like their playoff hopes are dead, the team did him a solid and shipped him to another Stanley Cup contender.
