NHL Player Safety has announced that Montreal Canadiens forward Cedric Paquette has been suspended two games for his hit on Anaheim Ducks rookie Trevor Zegras this past Sunday evening.

Paquette was given a two minute minor for boarding and a 10 minute misconduct on the play.

In their video explanation of the suspension, NHL Safety explains that while Zegras turned his back to pivot along the boards, Paquette still had sufficient time to ease up on the hit. Instead, Paquette drives Zegras through the numbers head first into the glass.

Here's the play in question:

Paquette will sit for tomorrow's game against the Detroit Red Wings and Thursday night's game against the New York Islanders.
