There has been a big rumor floating around this week regarding the future of the National Hockey League's Entry Draft, and now a former NHL great has seemingly confirmed that rumor.

According to a report from Scott Wheeler of The Athletic former NHL center Pat Lafontaine stated during a radio interview that there is now a consensus in the hockey world to move the draft age of players to 19-years-old and that it's really going to happen.

Wheeler believes that a change of this magnitude would result in major changes in scouting, development, training and could even impact how many young players opt to go the school route.

No word yet from anyone on when this change could be implemented by the NHL.
