Everyone is looking forward to tonight’s third contest in the second round series between the Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins, especially after the third period of Game 2. Star players Matthew Tkachuk and David Pastrnak fought each other with Tkachuk landing a couple of right-hand blows before Pastrnak fell to the ice in a 6-1 win for Florida as the series now shifts to Boston.

While Tkachuk had some surprising words for Pastrnak ahead of the game, giving the Bruins’ star his flowers, Bruins’ gritty forward Pat Maroon had a different for message for Tkachuk when talking about the upcoming game and what took place on Wednesday night.

Maroon claims that Tkachuk fought “dirty” during his much discussed brawl with Pasta, adding that the Panthers’ superstar broke a fighting code by delivering a few punches to Pastrnak after the Bruins winger had fallen to the ice.

“Obviously I don’t like how he hit him on the ground twice. I think that’s dirty,” said Maroon. “It’s the game within the game, but I don’t like the aftermath of it.”

He then looked to almost taunt Tkachuk by saying that the Florida player will not fight him.

“Tkachuk’s not going to fight me.

“If I go out there and take a dumb penalty and they got a power play, my job’s not accomplished. So can’t look at it like that. I just got to take numbers,” he said.

Don’t you feel like Tkachuk is the type of guy that will hear this and say: “Challenge accepted” ? Maroon did credit his teammate for taking the fight.

I think Pasta did a good job. That’s what leaders do. He stood up for the team. He took charge. You got to love that kind of stuff out of your leader,” he said.

Game 2 combined 148 penalty minutes, including 12 misconduct penalties, and everyone is wondering what tonight’s Game 3 will look like.

Especially with what Maroon said about Tkachuk…
