Patrick Kane comments on the passing of legendary singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffett.

Earlier today I brought you a report on what was inarguably my favorite hockey-related Jimmy Buffett moment in honor of the life of the legendary singer and songwriter that we lost on Friday, and I am very happy to report that the National Hockey League star that made that moment so magical is now also speaking out about the late Jimmy Buffett.

On Saturday, long time Chicago Blackhawks superstar Patrick Kane took to social media to share his thoughts on Buffett, a man whose music led to the now infamous "Kaner Shuffle." Unsurprisingly, Kane had nothing but fond words for a man that he shared the stage with on multiple different occasions, and even shared a beautiful photo of him and Buffett in an embrace with both men smiling from ear to ear.

"RIP to a legend," said Patrick Kane on Saturday. "Some of best nights ever backstage and onstage with you and the Stanley Cup! Always thought there would be another one. Cheers Jimmy!"

That last line is truly heartbreaking and no doubt many hockey fans would have loved to see Kane and Buffett on stage one last time, but at least we can always cherish the memories that the two men created for us.
