Patrick Kane Fires at the Nashville Predators on season-ending press conference

Patrick Kane, as the whole Chicago Blackhawks, wasn’t too happy about how things turned out for them.

A team like that, you kind of hope they don’t win. I don’t know if that’s necessarily the best way to watch hockey games.” Said Patrick Kane on locker clean-out day. Kane was referring to the Nashville Predators trapping system instaured by head coach Peter Laviolette. Coach Q had even named the Nashville Trap as “Red Rover,”

Now the trap, for those who are wondering, refers to a defensive strategy to prevent an opposing team from proceeding through the neutral zone to force turnovers.

Now to be fair, we are past the era of the New Jersey Devil’s tap system. Almost every team once in awhile play the trap either to protect their lead or to defend against highly skilled offensive teams like Chicago.
