Patrick Kane reveals true thoughts on Red Wings teammates
What an addition that he's been to Detroit.

The incredible Hollywood-style ending last night in the Windy City continues to resonate with Motor City hockey fans everywhere.
The Detroit Red Wings earned yet another come-from-behind victory, beating the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime by a 3-2 final score thanks to a late tying goal from former Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat, and capped by a thrilling overtime goal courtesy of former Blackhawks franchise icon Patrick Kane on a breakaway.
Even more ironically, in net for Chicago was former Red Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek. But as he's done countless times throughout his Hall of Fame career, Kane buried the puck with a seemingly effortless wrist shot to the top of the net.
“I had a move in my book in case it got to a breakaway tonight and stuck with it and it was nice to see it work,” Kane said in the wake of last night's win.
“I just wanted to slow down, maybe get the goalie to move back a little bit and then try to just float it in the top corner.”
Many fans were uncertain about what to anticipate from the former rival, particularly considering his recent hip resurfacing surgery during the summer. This procedure has hindered other players, such as Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom, from returning to full form.
Not only has Kane fit in like a glove, but in his own words, his new Red Wings teammates have been "unbelievable".
“This group has been unbelievable to me, welcomed me in and shared these moments,” he said. “The guys giving up the assistant captain for me today, pretty special, too. Just things like that. There’s a lot of camaraderie in this group. It feels good to obviously score that goal. Even bigger to get a win against these guys.”
There's no doubt that Kane has proven to be an invaluable addition to this Red Wings team, who are on the cusp of making the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
