It sounds like free agent star forward Patrick Kane is in deep evaluation of where he will sign next as many believe he will sign during the current month of November after rehabbing from hip resurfacing surgery he underwent in June. Darren Dreger reported on last night’s edition of Insider Trading on TSN that Kane is about to interview coaches and general managers.

“The list is probably closer to eight teams and they’re going to try to cut that down as early as the weekend and they hope to have a final decision perhaps in place early next week. “

Several insiders have hinted at the Florida Panthers, Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres and Toronto Maple Leafs as potential fits, and Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports that one team has been especially aggressive in their attempt to sign Kane.

“We’re starting to get close to the Patrick Kane decision, I think this week he’s going to start talking to some teams. Bill Zito, the GM of Florida, has been one of the most aggressive GMs when it comes to Kane…”

“…they don’t have a ton of money, they can’t offer him the most money, they can probably only offer him a 1 year deal”

The commun feeling is that Kane will pick the best landing spot in order to win a fourth championship in his career, and the Panthers could very well fit his vision. After all, he watched Florida go on a run to the Stanley Cup Final last year.

The upcoming meetings scheduled with interested parties are likely to help Showtime determine what’s best before signing on the dotted line with the one lucky team.

As of Tuesday night, it was reported that one team had been crossed out out of contention, Kane's former club, the New York Rangers, who had previously been linked to the forward.

I cannot wait to find out which uniform he will wear for the 2023-24 season!
