This is exactly why the Toronto Maple Leafs signed veteran forward Patrick Marleau in the offseason.
On Tuesday night in round two of the Battle of Alberta between the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple LEafs, Marleau found himself all alone against Senators goaltender Mike Condon and wasted little time putting the puck away.
Marleau didn't need any fancy moves, instead firing a perfect shot to beat Condon up high for his first unofficial goal as a member of the Maple Leafs.
