Former NHLer Patrick Maroon joined TSN's popular OverDrive radio program today to discuss the Toronto Maple Leafs' 7 game losing streak and captain Auston Matthews' 11 game goal-less streak.

The problem?

According to Maroon, it's not coaching, sloppy team defense or a lack of depth scoring... it's TSN and Sportsnet.

Maroon pointed fingers at the media for the Leafs' struggles and maintains that it's the scrutiny that the Leafs live under that has kept them from getting to the next level.

"There's (sic) not 25 media people that walk in your room every day. In Tampa there's 4 people that walk in your room every day. There's pressure... the articles and stuff like that... there's pressure every single day to perform every single night."

Listen, I respect the Hell out of Maroon. He's a Stanley Cup champion and a veteran of over 800 career NHL games.

But let's get real...

TSN and Sportsnet aren't lacing up the skates for the Leafs. It's up to the players to block out the noise and to go out there and perform. Enough with the excuses.
