Patrick Roy spotted in private meeting for next coaching job

It seems like the search for a new head coach behind the Ottawa Senators’ bench may be coming to an end…

It has been reported that Patrick Roy has become a strong contender for the position in Ottawa and on Tuesday, the former NHL goalie was spotted in Montreal with GM Pierre Dorion

The two men were seen leaving the same hotel in Montreal and we all know what they were talking about as many insiders believe the Senators will be making an announcement on their new head coach in the coming days.

Roy left the NHL at the end of the 2015-16 season when he mysteriously left his job as the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche. He spent the past season acting as both head coach and general manager of the QMJHL’s Quebec Ramparts.

The NHL legend has a lot of experience in managing young players and could be exactly what the Senators need moving forward in this rebuilding phase.

When he took over as bench boss of the Avalanche in 2013-14,Colorado was coming off of a dreadful 39-point performance in the lockout-shortened season and Roy had a great impact on the roster and management.

For the past two seasons, it would almost always be bad news when something was brought up about the Senators. We have a feeling things are about to get better in Ottawa…
