Things got rough on Tuesday night between the in-state rival New York Rangers and New York Islanders at UBS Arena, with the visiting Rangers feeling like they got the short end of the stick.
There were two notable incidents during the game that went uncalled by the on-ice officials, starting with forward Mika Zibanejad getting clocked by defenseman Adam Pelech, which was then followed up by Vincent Trocheck getting hit from behind in the final minute of play by Noah Dobson.
Trocheck was infuriated over the lack of a penalty from the officials, while Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette blasted the non-call in his postgame comments.
But for former NHL forward and current analyst Paul Bissonnette, any Rangers fan who is still upset about that is guilty of being soft! In his mind, Rangers fans have no room to get upset about hard hits considering that their captain Jacob Trouba routinely delivered bone-crunching and controversial hits of his own!
"Rangers fans crying about that hit at the end of the game come on Trouba does that to guys every shift are you guys smoking rocks give it a rest just take the loss. Win with grace lose with grace"
