Paul Bissonnette calls out Leafs for major fumble!

A rare time Biz is speaking against his favourite club:

Everyone knows how much former NHL forward, now hockey analyst, Paul Bissonnette loves the Toronto Maple Leafs. All throughout last night, he was cheering them on, hoping they would put an end to their four game losing streak and get the win over the Calgary Flames. They did, thanks to Auston Matthews and his fourth hat trick of the season, and that allowed some fans to forget what Biz had previously said about the Maple Leafs on the Spittin Chiclets podcast he co-hosts with former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney. Bissonnette and Whitney were analyzing Toronto’s lineup when they made it clear the Maple Leafs and general manager Brad Treviling had made a huge fumble early on in the 2023-24 season. That’s when they traded forward Sam Lafferty to the Vancouver Canucks in return for a pitiful fifth round pick in the upcoming draft.

Whitney starts him off in saying: “They let Lafferty go, and look what he’s doing for Vancouver! You’re telling me Lafferty couldn’t help the frigging forward unit”

Bissonnette went off from there:

“That’s the one that got away. You need a bulldog, you needed a bulldog, especially after losing [Michael] Bunting. You needed someone else to be able to mix it up. I thought that [Simon] Benoit kid who’s been called up, that defenseman, is adding some snarl to their lineup. But having a guy up from playing the way that Lafferty’s playing, I think he’s making just over a million bucks, and it’s a - come on here! That’s a f*ck, that’s a fumblef*ck if I ever saw one.”

Lafferty has indeed been able to do some things for Vancouver in the 45 games he’s played there this season, putting up 10 goals and 19 points, just two away from his career best back un 2022-23 with the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Maple Leafs might have fumbled on that one, and Bissonnette didn’t shy away from calling his favourite team out. Do you agree with Biz?
