Paul Bissonnette unloads on Mitch Marner after Game 4.

Biznasty does not hold back and completely destroys Mitch Marner on Monday.

There has been no one featured on any of the National Hockey League broadcasts of the Stanley Cup playoffs that has been more open and honest about the team he is cheering for than former NHL player Paul "Biznasty" Bissonnette. Bissonnette has effectively been a cheerleader for the Maple Leafs on many of the broadcasts he has been featured on during the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs, and it is for that reason that his comments today will come as a shock to many.

Bissonnette recently released the latest episode of the Spittin Chiclets podcast and it was during his appearance on that show that he absolutely unloaded on Maple Leafs star forward Mitch Marner. Bissonnette was all over Marner for his performance in Game 4, specifically as it pertained to play in which he caused a bad turnover in the offensive zone that went back the other way.

"What does Marner do with that puck?" asked Bissonnette on the Spittin Chiclets podcast. "That would be a behind the back no-look pass... turnover going back the other way. There's so many things I'm f***ing rattled about in this situation and if I was a coach I would be in the locker room and my f***ing head would explode."

One of the things that seemed to set Bissonnette off the most was the fact that Marner seemed to show relatively little care for his teammates on the blue line, teammates that have been sacrificing their bodies and taking tons of punishment through these playoffs so far.

"Maybe alleviate pressure from your f***ing defensemen for one shift and go get a f***ing sustained shift 5 on 5 in the O zone," said a now visibly frustrated Bissonnette.

Bissonnette would continue to drill Marner, pointing to another incident in which Maple Leafs defenseman Simon Benoit bailed out Marner who had failed to clear the puck out of the defensive zone only for Marner to then leave him hanging out to dry.

"What the f*** does Mitch Marner do as their is a battle going on with no possession?" asked Bissonnette. "What does he do? He peeled off.... Where the f*** is he going? Where the f*** is he going? Where the f*** are you going?"

Bissonnette wasn't done regarding this second incident.

"Not only do you not wait for the battle to finish on the strong side, you look away from it and peel off as if you're either gonna go change or maybe if they end up winning the battle for you they can zip it over for you so you can f***ing turn it over."

Despite the vitriol that had already come from Bissonnette regarding this incident he still wasn't done.

"And he didn't f***ing backcheck," added Bissonnette. "He didn't f***ing take a stride from the blue line."

Bissonnette then ridiculed the notion that Marner should ever be a player considered for the Selke Trophy as the NHL's best defensive forward.

"F***ing Selke?" asked Bissonnette. "Selke my f***ing dick."

Even more damning for Marner was the fact that fellow former NHL player Keith Yandle nodded along and agreed with every word.

"100% being honest," acknowledged Yandle.

Bissonnette was then asked if the Maple Leafs should move on from Marner and make Matthew Knies his replacement in their core four group of players and Bissonnette left no doubt about his feelings on the matter.

"That isn't even a f***ing question," admitted Bissonnette. "Do I put him in the core four? I would give [Matthew Knies] 14 million in a split second before I gave it to Mitch Marner."

Some spicy comments from Bissonnette for sure, and the only question now is how will Maple Leafs nation respond to such harsh criticism directed at one of their top stars?
