Panthers lose another player for several months with their hopes of a 3rd straight Stanley Cup on the line.
The Florida Panthers have been decimated by injuries to start the 2025-25 National Hockey League season and unfortunately it seems that there is no sign of the injury bug slowing down when it comes to the defending Stanley Cup champions.
On Saturday, Panthers' head coach Paul Maurice confirmed another devastating injury for his team when he revealed that veteran forward Jonah Gadjovich would be sidelined for the next 3 months as a result of an injury. Gadjovich was injured in late October during a game against the Vegas Golden Knights and was expected to miss time as a result of his injury, but this latest update paints a far darker picture.
"At least a week," said Maurice when initially asked about the injury back in October.
That is a far cry from the 3 month timeline that Maurice laid out for reporters on Saturday, a timeline that unfortunately could have a significant impact on a Panthers roster that is already missing several of their top forwards including star forward Matthew Tkachuk and team captain Aleksander Barkov.
Making matters worse for the Panthers is that Gadjovich was off to a good start this season with 3 points through his first 10 games, nearly matching his season total of 4 points last season over 42 games played.
I wish him a full and speedy recovery from his injury.
