Paul Maurice shares updates on Reinhart, Mikkola, and Greer.
Paul Maurice shares an update on his team ahead of Game 4 on Monday.
The Florida Panthers have taken a commanding 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Final over the Carolina Hurricanes but that commanding lead has come at a steep cost for the Panthers.
Over the course of the 3 games played in this series thus far the Panthers have dealt with a number of injuries including forward Sam Reinhart exiting the series in Game 2 and defenseman Niko Mikkola leaving Game 3 after a nasty collision with the boards.
Understandably that left a lot of questions about which Panthers we will see in the lineup on Monday for Game 4 but, while we won't know anything for sure until closer to Game 4, Panthers head coach Paul Maurice did share a number of updates regarding some of his banged up players on Sunday.
The update that everyone was waiting for was of course any news on the status of Mikkola who left Game 3, and Maurice had good news to share on that front. The Panthers head coach revealed that he expects that both Mikkola and AJ Greer will be in the lineup for Game 4 despite both players being banged up in this series.
Maurice was however less confident when it came to the status of forward Sam Reinhart who left Game 2 after he was hit low by Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho. Maurice didn't rule out Reinhart for Game 4 in spite of the fact that the forward has yet to resume skating, and instead suggested the team would have a definitive answer come Monday morning.
Maurice is still considering Reinhart day to day, but if I'm being honest I don't expect to see him back in the lineup anytime soon given just how bad his leg appeared to buckle on this hit from Aho:
