Many fans who watched the Detroit Red wings season come to an end last night also believed they were seeing the last shifts of a great talent on the ice as well, but that may not be the case.

There have long been rumors that Pavel Datsyuk will return to Russia, and Datsyuk even seemed to confirm as much in a recent interview, but it sounds like there may still be a chance he does return for the final year of his contract with the Red Wings.

According to a report from Red Wings insider Helen St. James of the Detroit Free Press, when asked about his future after the game Datsyuk did not make any commitment either way, stating that his emotions were running high and that he wanted time to cool off and contemplate the decision. While this may seem like a relatively minor statement from Datsyuk, any possibility of a return from him next season could drastically alter the Red Wings plans for the future.
