A scoreless drought is never fun. However, ending it by scoring the game winner in overtime, that can help turn things around.

Tanner Pearson did just that last night. After not finding the back of the net since December 31st against Calgary, he tickled the twine in overtime last night against the Rangers. He used the speed he is known for to get open on the right side and Alec Martinez fired a pass up to him to send Pearson in for a partial break with the Rangers defenseman closing on him for the middle of the ice. Pearson snapped a quick wrist shot that beat Antti Raanta glove side and gave the Kings the two points.

It was a great bounce back win for the Kings who were beaten handily 5-2 by the Islanders the night before.

The win also helped Peter Budaj pick up his first NHL win in two years.
